Sharing good local eats in and around Delmarva (Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia)
Fenwick Island, Delaware
Fenwick Island and its neighbors to the north, Bethany Beach and South Bethany are popularly known as “The Quiet Resorts”. This is in contrast to the wild atmosphere of Dewey Beach and the cosmopolitan bustle of Rehoboth Beach.
Named after Thomas Fenwick, a planter from England who settled in Maryland, Fenwick Island lay in the part of Delaware which was claimed by Lord Baltimore and his heirs during the Penn-Baltimore border dispute.
Papa Grande’s
Papa Grande’s is the best Mexican restaurant in Fenwick Island. Just over the bridge on Route 54, Papa Grande’s serves great tacos, burritos, fajitas and nachos. The cool bar overlooks the bay and serves the best margaritas, agave crushes, and draft beers. Sit outside on the upstairs deck and check out the great water views while sipping on tequila and enjoying an order of queso, street corn or fish tacos with friends.
